Out of Office
Terms of use
Last updated 3 November 2026
The short version. Play fair and keep your public name and messages decent. Petty Cash is for cosmetic extras in the game: it has no cash value and, because it's added straight away, can't be cancelled once you have it. Your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.
About these terms
Out of Office (outofofficegame.com) is run by Ben Crumpton ("we"). Contact: hello@outofofficegame.com. Postal address: Available on request from hello@outofofficegame.com.
By playing, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we use your information.
Accounts
- You can play as a guest. To use Petty Cash, appear on leaderboards or choose a name, sign in with your email.
- You need to be 13 or older to create an account, and 18 or older (or have a parent or guardian's permission) to buy Petty Cash.
- Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in to your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from the account panel.
Playing fair
Everyone gets the same daily deck, and the server checks every official run. Don't use bots, scripts or other tricks to play, change scores or get Petty Cash or items you haven't paid for. If you do, we may remove your runs, items or account.
Names, auto-replies and league names
These are shown to other players. Keep them free of abuse, hate, sexual content, personal information (yours or anyone else's), impersonation and advertising. Players can report anything that breaks these rules. We may change or remove it, and hide or close accounts that repeatedly break them.
Petty Cash
- Petty Cash is in-game credit for cosmetic extras: desk themes, flair, card packs, the auto-reply, the deck archive, Groundhog Day replays, the exit interview, annual leave days and office leagues. None of it changes how the official daily deck plays: everyone gets one official run a day, and replays never count.
- It's sold in £2.99 top-ups, paid on Stripe's checkout. Prices include VAT. Where Stripe acts as merchant of record, Stripe is the seller of the top-up and its terms also apply to the payment.
- Petty Cash has no cash value. It can't be exchanged for money, transferred to another account or used outside the game.
- Your right to cancel: Petty Cash is digital content added to your account as soon as you pay. Before paying, you ask for it straight away and agree that you then lose the usual 14-day right to cancel. Your receipt email confirms this.
- If something you bought doesn't work, tell us and we'll fix it, replace it or refund it, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.
- If a payment is refunded or reversed, we take the Petty Cash back off your balance, which can go below zero until it's made up.
- Items you buy are yours to use in the game for as long as it runs. If you delete your account, your Petty Cash and items go with it.
- If we ever close the game, we'll stop selling Petty Cash and give at least 30 days' notice in the game first.
The game itself
We work to keep the game running, but can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. We may change, add or remove cards, features and prices; changes to prices never affect Petty Cash you've already bought.
Out of Office is satire. The characters and companies in it are made up, and any resemblance to your actual workplace is your workplace's fault.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Otherwise, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses: the game is for personal entertainment.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change matters, we'll tell signed-in players before it applies. If you don't agree, you can stop playing and delete your account.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there.
